Tuga is a Spanish-speaking leatherback sea turtle. An exceptionally strong swimmer, she can zip Diego through the water on her shell or protect her friends from stinging jellyfish. She first appeared in Diego Saves Baby Humpback Whale.

Physical Appearance

Tuga's body is mainly a very dark navy blue with silvery white spots over her fins and shell, her shell is black on top and white on bottom with light gray stripes down the shell, though in her debut her shell was black all over no white underside

• It is revealed in "Save the Sea Turtles" that her oldest friend is Diego's mother.
• Part of her name means "Turtle" in Spanish (Tortuga).
