The Greedy Wizard is a main antagonist from the Dora and Friends episode, "The Magic Ring".

Biography

The Wizard worked for the Princess Xochitl, but what she didn't know was that he was stealing her family's treasures and stole her ring. When he put it on, it shrunk him and he was looking for the ring so he could get his size back, but he was chasing Dora and her friends all over the ancient Mexican kingdom, attempting to get the ring to the princess. When the magic ring's spell broke, the princess woke up and asked what was going on. The Wizard tried to frame Dora and her friends for the stolen ring, but Dora quickly came up with a plan to prove that the wizard indeed took it. The mouse then led everyone to his shack. When Princess Xochitl urged the wizard to open the door to retrieve the ring, he tried to cover up his deception. But when the princess opened the door herself and saw his house filled with her family's treasures, she was shocked to learn he was the one who stole her ring and royal treasures. She immediately ordered her guards to take away the wizard and his pet cat.

Trivia

• He is voiced by Sean Kenin, who also voices his cat.
• He has noticeable similarities to Robert "Sideshow Bob" Terwilliger Jr. from The Simpsons:

1. Both framed a supporting character of theft (Krusty and Dora).
2. Both hold a grudge against their series' protagonists (The Wizard against Dora and her friends & Bob against Bart).
